Educational Exchange

Welcom Riccardo!

Met regelmaat hebben we in de bovenbouw havo/vwo buitenlandse leerlingen, die deelnemen aan een internationale uitwisseling en hier verblijven bij een gastgezin. Dit schooljaar is Riccardo uit Italië leerling van het Aletta.

Riccardo (l):

I have already been here in Holland for two months. I decided to do this program because I firmly think that if you want to learn, to understand to challenge yourself, you need to leave your comfort zone in order to experience and do new things, as much as you can.

I have been here for just  two months but I've already learnt so many new things, and I'm not talking  about school only, but experience in general. It was the first time that I took an airplane alone; I have to manage my own money, I'm learning a new language from scratch...  I am very grateful that my host family is so willing to help me  and  teach me Dutch. I am also very grateful to my school, my teachers and my classmates: they are very friendly and right from the first day they have been available for assistance, and they have shown  me around at school. I can now speak Dutch, though not perfectly. My understanding is improving, because I am learning, and I'm very proud of this. I thought that the distance between me and my family would be rather painful, or even impossible to handle, but actually it is not like that. I hope that the rest of the year will be like these first two months!

Klasgenoot Tijn (r):

Na de herfstvakantie kregen we een Italiaanse jongen in onze klas. Riccardo is op uitwisseling. Het is erg gezellig met hem en we ondernemen veel. We hebben bijvoorbeeld al heel wat Nederlandse specialiteiten met hem gegeten. Riccardo kan al best goed de Nederlandse taal verstaan, maar we praten Engels met hem. We hopen dat hij hier een leuk jaar heeft!
